A/N: Yes I do happen to be a rabid Luke/Tear fangirl, thankyou very much~♪
The red haired noble stared out the window of his room, his chin rested neatly in the palm of his hand. There was a far off look in his eyes that just told the blonde maid that her master was far from the manor and anything that concerned Baticul for that matter. Taking a cautious step forward she spoke his name again, this time a little louder, causing Luke to snap out of his thoughts and jump up. Green eyes wide with surprise, the sort of look the maids had donned as cute.
“Huh? Sorry, what were you saying?” He managed to get out, shaking his head a couple of times and scrambling to his feet. The maid allowed herself a giggle, which made Luke’s cheeks burn slightly with embarrassment, he really did hate it when that did that.
“His Grace has told me to inform you that he and the Lady will not be returning to the manor today, and that you are to attend a meeting within the castle later on today.” Once her report was finished she bowed respectfully, waiting for Luke to dismiss her, Luke knew that the maids and other staff found it odd how much he changed, he no longer treated them poorly and was kind when he spoke to them.
“Oh! You’re dismissed.” Luke mumbled watching the girl exit the room and closing the door behind herself.
“Argh!” Not a word from the others, Luke was positive that he was slowly going to get driven insane, sure he could leave the manor but it seemed liked Baticul became his cage now, he couldn’t really leave even though they said he was free to do what he wanted. He wanted out, he didn’t want to go to any meeting with other nobles and he wanted to go see his friends. He wanted to go to her, the only person who stood by his side even when he tried to push her away.
“Mieu! Hey Mieu!” Poking his head out of the window, Luke scowled attempting to find his blue and furry companion, he was sure the little freak hadn’t gone too far. Most likely talking with Pere or something. With a huff he slipped back into his room and kicked the side of his bed, soon discovering it was a rather stupid idea, “OW.”
“MASTER!” The high-pitched voice of the cheagle pierced his ears like nails on a chalkboard, he was positive that his ears were going to start bleeding, “Are you alright?” Yes, his ears really were going to bleed if Mieu shouted again.
Waving his hand in the air dismissively Luke shook his head, “Yeah yeah, I’m alright. Can you do me a favor?” He asked an almost pleading look appeared the in the young noble’s eyes, Mieu blinked and slowly nodded his head somewhat fearful as to what his master had in store for him to do. “Great! How fast can you get to Yulia City?”
“But Master, I can’t swim!”
“Of course you can’t, get on a boat and head to Sheridan, I’m sure Noelle will give you a lift!” Luke once again shook his hand dismissively in the air, it was an habit he didn’t really seem to get rid of. Mieu just looked up at him blinking in that all to cute and innocent way which would have Tear giggling at how cute he is, even if he was going to change Mieu’s all around cuteness really did annoy him. A lot.
“But Master…why can’t you go to see Tear?” Mieu asked. Luke froze and gritted his teeth slightly, how the hell did the fuzzy freak see through his so easily? It was almost as bad as Jade…and the colonel could see through anyone like glass. And that was just creepy.
“B-Because I can’t, Father wants me to go to this meeting at the castle later and I don’t wanna go, so just go give this to Tear—“ He handed Mieu a letter he had written the night before, “D-Don’t look at me that way, just do it!” Without a warning Luke swiftly got back up to his feet and kicked the blue creature out of the window.
It was Mieu’s own fault anyways. Really.
Two hours, fourteen minutes and thirty seconds….and counting.
Sure he could have gotten out of the Manor by himself, but he didn’t want to go to that meeting that he knew he was going to be forced to go too. So naturally, he wanted to break out…and there really was one person who’d be able to get it done without any problems. Sitting on his bed, legs crossed, Luke waited looking ever the more bored since he had kicked Mieu out of the window. How long did it take to fly to Yulia City? If that stupid little cheagle lost that letter he really was going too…
Suddenly Luke blinked, a familiar melody softly echoing within the courtyard, a melody that brought that large goofy smile to his face. Springing out of his bed, Luke half stumbled half ran towards the door, violently pulling it open with so much enthusiasm that could rival Anise on a good day.
The Oracle Knight stood in the middle of the courtyard, the Albiore looming behind her with her arms crossed across her chest and a smile planted on her lips. She was truly happy to see him again, albeit worried that he didn’t reply to her letter, but nonetheless she was all the more happy to see his goofy grin again. Even if she did not look it. “Really Luke, you could have snuck out of Baticul yourself, I don’t see why you needed my help.” Even though she said that in a cold and critical tone, even Luke could see that she truly did not mind, or else she wouldn’t have come.
Luke didn’t really reply, he sprinted across the courtyard and, much like most of his actions these days, unceremoniously wrapped his arms around the Oracle Knight, with that big goofy grin planted on his face. “Thanks Tear.”
“I-I-…Y-You’re welcome Luke…” Tear felt the heat rise in her cheeks rapidly, dreading that she could not escape the bright red color her skin was going to turn. Quickly she coughed which caused Luke to jump back, his face full of worry, “I’m fine, don’t worry. There is no time to be dawdling, if we are spotted all my efforts will be in vain.”
Blinking all too innocently Luke gasped slightly, “Oh yeah, come on Tear!” he grabbed her wrist and spontaneously ran up the ramp of the Albiore, shouting to its loyal pilot to take flight.
